Orientation and research purpose: In this article we explore an applicable framework of pre-conditions for employee motivation so as to help curb Zimbabwe’s current brain drain challenge.Motivation the study: After observing that literature does not seem address questions around what actually compels employees stay within their jobs, especially in politically socio-economic unstable countries; sought understudy institutions higher learning.Research approach/design method: The case study, which is qualitative nature, studies two sites, namely, one public private university. From participants are purposefully selected be interviewed.Main findings: Through interviewed participants, study reveals a new wave drain.
